AVN Case Study : Results with stem cell treatment are promising

Case Study AVN:

A 26 years male patient admitted to our hospital for treatment of AVN B/L hip joint.

Presenting complaints: B/L Hip Pain +++, B/L Knee Pain ++,

History of fall from height in childhood

Physical examination: On single leg balancing pain & discomfort of Rt. Leg more than Lt. Leg.

Radiological findings: Suggestive of B/L AVN (avascular necrosis) Femur heads. Grade III & II, Ligamental Injury to Knee.

Treatment Plan: In AVN two major factors are responsible for disease

  1. Disturbance in blood supply
  2. The bone tissue necrosis due to lack of blood supply

The stem cell plays a major role for cure due to their basic correctors of Angiogenesis & Differentiation, so the below protocol was adopted for treatment.

  1. Mesenchymal Stem Cell Transplant:

Bone Marrow & Adipose Tissue derived Stem Cells with Stromal Factor Transplanted

  1. Intra Articular Transplant in B/L Hip Joint under Image Intensifier guidance around femoral heads.
  2. Intravenous rout.
  3. Local PRP Injection for Ligament Injury

Patient showed good improvement symptomatically, Knee Pain has subsided, Hip pain has reduced and mobility of joint has increased than before.

Radiological findings: Increased vasculature with sings of new cartilage formation.

Again for hip joint same protocol was followed.

Patient is much better than previous visit and improvement in mobility of hip joint and pain is disappeared

Radiological findings: Increased bone density in femur head with cartilage regeneration.

Again same protocol was followed to bust the action of healing.
